OUR STORY
A journey around the world
We settled in Bourbon County after over two decades of combined military service. We wanted to give back to a community and ecosystem through the thoughtful care and raising of poultry and regeneration of the land.
ABOUT VAN SCOTT FARMS
We started off by raising two-dozen well-loved pet chickens - Blue Cochins, Brahmas, Silver-laced Polish, and Black and White Silkies. They free range on our acreage and live a pampered life of luxury!
In the summer of 2024 we started a show-quality breeding program for Bantam Black Cochins. We aim to perfect their lineage but most importantly really we just want the most well-mannered, affectionate chickens to fill our lives.

In the fall of 2024 we started our first batch of pasture-raised poultry. It started from that realization of how affectionate and personable chickens are and the tragic lifecycles they often live in industrial farming. Our passion is to give our pasture-raised chickens a great, healthy life that will nourish and bring happiness to people, just like they bring happiness to us.
